Running Hitachi Fitness Test without Floppy Drive

Last Updated: 1/29/10

Hard drive manufacturer Hitachi still lives in the stone age and you can only test a possible failed hard drive using a floppy. If you don't have a floppy and still want to test your drive with their software there is a work around.

Download the floppy image from below and boot it from a USB flash drive. I used UBCD4win (http://www.ubcd4win.com) and integrated the floppy image, but you can use other solution too. Like syslinux or isolinux or grub4does, etc....

If you use the UBCD4win like me, after the flash drive is created and bootable copy the .bin file to the images folder and edit the menu.lst file on the root of flash drive.
