Vista Stop Error 7B (Inaccessible Boot Device)

Last Updated: 1/31/10

I recently found an article to assist me when a Vista Computer I was working on blue screened with stop error 0x0000007B. The error was apparently related to some disk imaging software being removed (Acronis True Image). This article (Vista BSOD with 0x0000007B, hangs on crcdisk.sys) helped a lot. I used my UBCD4Win instead of my Windows Vista cd, but the end results are pretty much the same. The ability to edit the registry. Anyways I found that my computer was still getting the stop error even after following the articles instructions. So, I followed the articles instructions again, but replaced "snapman" with "timounter". A driver file also related to Acronis. After removing all references to "snapman" and "timounter" in the registry the computer booted fine.
