OfficeJet G85 and Windows XP

Last Updated: 2/14/10

*** CREATE A RESTORE POINT BEFORE INSTALLING***

This printer was not designed for Windows XP. Therefore getting it to work on Windows XP can be a pain. If you have not install this printer yet (unlikly if you are reading this) then install "msjvm.zip" from this website.

This file contains Microsoft Java Virtual Machine, which is no longer part of Windows XP, but is needed for this printer to install. If you already tryed to install this printer and failed try to use a recent restore point, download the file, and then try to install again. Most recent drivers here.

If you still can't get it to work use that restore point again and then just plug the printer in and try to use the Windows XP built-in drivers. It won't be as user friendly and you might lose some features but it is better than nothing. The other thing you can do is try to switch connections from usb to parallel or from parallel to usb.
